House Program

House Program

One program option that SPAMBA offers is the "House League" program.  This program focuses on player skill development and playing experience at a particular division level.  In this program, the teams play twice a week and practices are scheduled by the Head Coach.  Teams play from the beginning of May till the end of June.  There tends to be less travel in this program, however commitment to the team and it's schedule is still expected.

SPAMBA teams play out of two different leagues, and which league is dependent on which division level you are playing in.

At the Mosquito or PeeWee level, SPAMBA is a member of the Parkland Community Baseball League. Spruce Grove Minor ball Association and Stony Plain Minor Ball Association have formed the Parkland Community Baseball League.  Youth athletes from the communities of Spruce Grove, Stony Plain and Parkland County will be combined to enhance the quality of baseball for the youth while stressing the value of sportsmanship, athleticism, teamwork, fair play and FUN.  For information on games and scores, please visit

At the Bantam and Midget level, SPAMBA is a member of the Edmonton Rural Recreational Baseball League (ERRBL) which is run by Baseball Alberta.  This league consists of teams from all over Alberta but Baseball Alberta place teams in divisions based on location to try and limit travel as much as possible.

Both house leagues have one "wrap up" tournament towards the end of the season but there are also other tournaments throughout the season that teams can participate in.  Additional tournaments that teams play in and the fees for additional tournaments are the responsibility of the teams to decide upon and fund-raise for.  The "wrap-up" tournaments are part of initial registration fees.
